Technically, CIF stands for Customer Information File. All the valuable records or data related to you are stored in a digit format in this CIF number. However, the number of digits in the CIF number varies from bank to bank. There are 11 digits in the SBI CIF number.
This 11-digit CIF number is used by banks to decode the information of their customers about the loans, Demat, and KYC (identity proof & address proof)

How to Find CIF Number through SBI Net Banking
If you have an active SBI net banking account then you can find your CIF number within a few seconds.
Step 1: Log in to SBI net banking official website.
Step 2: Click the Login button as shown in the image.
Step 3: Now, Click the Continue button and log in to your SBI net banking account by filling in the credentials. i.e. Username & Password and fill the captcha.
Step 4: Check the “Account Statement” section on the left side. Click on it.
Step 5: Now, you can check the account statement in four different modes. In this case, I’m checking it by Month. Select Month and then click the “Go” button.
Step 6: This is the last step and here you can see clearly your CIF number online.

Another Method to Find the CIF number using SBI internet banking
- Log in to the SBI net banking system
- Enter the high-security OTP received on your RMN
- In the dashboard/Account Summary section you will see a link mentioning “View Nomination and PAN Details“. Click on it.

How to Find CIF Number in SBI Yono Lite
If you are an SBI Yono Lite App user then you can find the CIF number in SBI using Yono SBI mobile. However, to operate the SBI Yono Lite, you must have an SBI net banking login.
Steps to find CIF number using SBI Yono Lite App
- Log in to this by Username and Password.
- In the dashboard, click on the Services section.
- Now, click on the Online Nomination.
- Select the Type of Account as Transaction Account.
- Choose Account Holder Name.
- That’s it. The CIF number is displayed in front of you.

How to Find SBI CIF Number by SMS
It is directly not possible to find the SBI CIF number using SMS either from your registered mobile number or an unregistered contact number. In order to find the CIF number through SMS, you must have a valid registered email linked with SBI. You can achieve this by sending a mini statement SMS.
How to Get the CIF Number of SBI through Email
To find the CIF number using email, an email must be registered with the SBI account. If you do not have a registered email in SBI, you can create one easily.
We can get the CIF number in SBI by submitting an e-statement request via SMS. You must send this mini statement SMS only from the RMN linked with that particular account.

What is the validity of the SBI Chequebook?
As per the RBI banking regulations, the validity of Cheques, Demand Drafts, Pay Orders, and Banker’s Cheques are reduced from 6 months to 3 months, from the date of issue of the instrument.
